As a senior at the University of Texas at Austin, the Jefferies Family Scholarship has tremendously assisted in my academic goals for the last three years. I am currently studying Management Information System at the McCombs School of Business and have had the opportunity to go to China for an internship, as well as Belize for an entrepreneurial academic outreach program. Because of these experiences, I was able to extend my reach and networks on a global level. I was able to help high schoolers in Orange Walk, Belize develop their business skills. With both my siblings also in college, obtaining and paying for these opportunities as well as tuition, rent, and other expenses would have been nearly impossible on my own. The Jefferies Family Scholarship has allowed me to pursue my passions no matter how grand they are. The scholarship gives me an opportunity to use my intellect and education to make a difference in the world, so that what I learn and experience can help change the world.
